The Choir

Ború is an SATB choir under the musical direction of conductor Carmel Whelan. The ensemble was formed in September 2015 and has enjoyed a variety of performance experiences to date, including featuring in RTÉ’s “Centenary” program which broadcast live from the Bord Gáis Theatre on Easter Monday 2016. Based in Clontarf, Dublin the choir is open to singers of all backgrounds, with no audition required to join. In June 2018 Ború joined composer Dr. John Leavitt in Christchurch Cathedral for the Dublin premier of his choral cantata “Bound For Glory”. They are currently looking forward to performing alongside him once more in Carnegie Hall, New York in November 2020.  The choir enjoys singing a varied repertoire each Monday at rehearsals where they are joined by their accompanist Bryan Mullen. Most recently they debuted a new Irish work “Voyage of Amergin” by Irish composer Ciara McElholm at the Five Lamps Arts Festival in Dublin.
